Camping is a little different at Maple Tree Campground.

We are a tiny nature oasis to enjoy a rustic forest bath... peace and quiet, birds and wildlife. We are not "glamping" by any means, but we do have hot outdoor showers, and rustic shelters that are truly one-of-a-kind.

Our twenty acres of beautiful wooded campground is nestled up to the Appalachian Trail on Maryland's South Mountain. This provides an ideal setting for year-round camping, hiking and river rafting fun.

All of our sites are equipped with a fire circle, picnic table and charcoal grill to make your camping experience complete. The main campground facilities offer running water, a bathhouse, and a small camp shop. We conveniently stock firewood, charcoal, ice, and other food and camping items you may have forgotten to pack.

The seclusion, peace, and quiet of our campsites offer a relaxing atmosphere to slow down. You can escape from your busy schedule and just enjoy the surrounding nature.

There are fun activities and spectacular sites to enjoy beyond our woods.

Since we are located near historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and close to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland, we have a variety of attractions, activities and eateries nearby for both adults and families. Be sure to check out our page about Area Attractions.

If you love camping, Maple Tree Campground is the perfect choice for an affordable weekend family vacation, rustic getaway or even a unique wedding venue.

We are also pet friendly!

Happy Campers

"This little gem of a campground stole my heart! I've camped here a couple months back and it was amazing. Beautiful setting, something for all campers. It was the perfect balance to me. No electricity, except for the hobbit house, but I didn't even need it. Camping is the outdoors, nature, quality time with the person or people you're with. It's nice to enjoy the little things and appreciate the ones we take for granted on the daily. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are beautiful souls. The outdoor shower were my favorite! And they are enclosed so very private but the top is open which is such an exhilarating feeling. The roads are a little bumpy but hey camping isn't for the faint of heart. Also, its so cheap! Great prices. For tent camping, tree house camping and cottages. This place was just great, if you haven't been, I really recommend going at least once! Love love love."

"Wonderful place to hang out! Friendliest folks running the place! Reasonable prices and very clean. Bathrooms are well kept along with the showers. Grounds and treehouses are very clean. Lots of things to do around the area. There is a state park right down the road with lots of history in it, the quaintest small town of Burkettsville with an awesome antiques place where the gentlemen is very knowledgeable, the Cider Works is right down from the little quaint town where you can pick apples or try some wine, and also the wonderful town of Middletown. This was truly a wonderful experience. We loved it and will return again! Convenient to Baltimore! And on Wednesdays it is 30% off! Don't let the acorns falling from the trees scare you at night! I thought it was Big Foot throwing rocks at the treehouse, but it was just the acorns falling and hitting the treeehouses! Great Adventure"
